It's A Buzz Lightyear Birthday Blog
There is a particular form of chaos theory to analyze a poem based on UK:
For want of a nail the shoe WAS lost,
Ultimately, the implications of this poem is that small things or situations, initially seem insignificant, they can go climbing to consequences of great magnitude. This analysis is similar to the butterfly effect which says that the flapping of the butterfly can cause a storm across the world.
The film "The Effect Mariposa "( The Butterfly Effect, Eric Bress , J. Mackye Gruber , 2004) tells the story of Evan (Ashton Kutcher), who suffers from a very early mental blocks that prevent you from remembering certain events in his life. In his childhood he meets Kaleygh (Amy Smart) and his brother Tommy (William Lee Scott), a small quasi-leaning and aggressive psychopaths, perhaps caused by his relationship with his father. This trio, as well as Lenny, another friend with problems overweight, spend time together and establish a dysfunctional friendship, amplified by the feelings that Evan professes Kaleygh and challenged by unhealthy Tommy overprotective toward his sister. Compounding this situation, the father of Tommy and Kaleygh films movies of child pornography in which no objection whatsoever to include their children.
face a tragic event in which they are involved the now teenagers, Evan's mother decides to move to another city separating Evan and Kaleygh. Later Evan is a college student with a quiet life, which sometimes is disturbed by attacks similar to epilepsy. In one such attack, Evan returns to some of the past situations in which he suffered a mental block. To be in that situation, change the events and returns to the present time. However, it is not present where it was before. It is now a popular student and boyfriend of 'girl' most popular fraternity did you guess? exactly: Kaleygh. At first everything seems an idyllic dream where Evan lives what he always wanted next to the woman he loves. However, problems arise as to change the past several of the characters involved so do and not just for the better. This triggers a series of tragic events that force Evan to return to the past again and again to try to change it and fix the situation.
However, each time you change the past but things are arranged for some, others suffer terrible consequences. The Butterfly Effect title is reflected precisely the effects that small changes in the past may have in the future in one or more persons. In the context of the film, the protagonist changes performs trigger events in this case, affect only Evan and his inner circle. Without revealing the end, the film ultimately raises the interesting premise and the decisions we make in our lives, however insignificant it may seem, can be scaled and have a significant impact not only ourselves but those around us.
From the perspective of chaos theory, one of its tenets is the speaker of the Butterfly Effect. This concept says that given initial conditions in a system, any change, even if minimal, can generate a completely different evolution of the system. This effect focuses on the notion of sensitivity to initial conditions within the framework of chaos theory. The idea is that, given initial conditions of a particular chaotic system, the slightest change in them can cause the system to evolve in completely different ways. The applications of this theory range from meteorology to the analysis of behavior in the stock market.
In popular culture, in addition to the films, an example of butterfly effect is the story of Ray Bradbury entitled "The sound of thunder", which scientists manage to create a time machine able to go to a prehistoric era when dinosaurs still inhabited the earth. However, the "tourists" time should be extremely careful to avoid changing the planet's evolutionary order. On one trip, one of the hikers accidentally stepped on a butterfly triggering dramatic changes were evident when they returned to the present time. In fact, this story was the basis of one of the special "Halloween" The Simpsons, entitled "Time and Punishment" as well as a film directed by Peter Hyam not worth mentioning.
In the context of the economy, the analysis of the butterfly effect has used in the concept known as Dependent Paths (Path Dependance). This concept is used to explain how a given set of circumstances decisions is limited by the decisions that have been made in the past, even if those circumstances are no longer relevant. In other words, this concept explains why small economic decisions can have major consequences for the functioning of a market and the good that is traded on it.
Although not without controversy, one of the example that has been raised is the Qwerty keyboard. Did you ever wonder why the keyboard has the settings that you currently have? For example, why the first 6 letters the top row are QWERTY? Why not follow the order of the alphabet?
The story goes back to 1868 when Christopher Sholes patented this keyboard organization and sold to Remington in 1873. At the time tenders were made to determine the order of keyboard fingering for more efficient and decreasing the possibility that the hammers of the typewriter are entangled with each other. The rationality of Sholes was based on the assumption that the most common keys should be separated as to prevent is entangled. Scholes won the contest in a U.S. marginal people. UU., Remington company acquired the patent and began using this setting in selling typewriters. Your name: QWERTY keyboard.
interesting thing about this event and related to the butterfly effect, is that currently the use of typewriters is marginal and it is questionable whether this configuration allows typing on the computer desktop or laptop more efficient. It was just an isolated incident in an American people who determined that at present almost all the keyboards take this configuration.
Against this there is a controversy, since later, in 1936 August Dvorak patented his own keyboard configuration based on criteria they claim different studies , increase typing speed. There is a fun comic that tells the situation and the process that was followed in terms of rivalry between QWERTY vs. DVORAK .
Economic theory would say that the greatest good, ie more efficient, is the one that should prevail and dominate the market gradually, in this case the configuration of the keyboard. However, dependent pathways appear as marginal character decisions, can have horrific proportions later, making it difficult if not impossible, to change the operation of the prevailing market and achieve the most good, in this case the DVORAK keyboard.
